Arsovska Tomovska at the 22nd International Conference in Dubai

Dubai, 23rd May 2016

The Minister of information society and administration Marta Arsovska Tomovska recently attended the “Smart Governments and Smart Cities” International Conference, held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The purpose of the Conference was to exchange practices in strategies and projects connected with modern electronic operation concepts in public institutions, and to explain how the information and communication technologies application could improve services provided by the central and local government authorities for the citizens and business sector.


Minister Arsovska tomovska, together with the Slovenian Vice-Premier and Minister for public administration, Mr. boris Koprivnikar, opened the Conference with their opening addresses. Thereby, Arsovska Tomovska presented in her opening address the strategic priorities, as well as realized and planned projects in the Republic of Macedonia connected with electronic operation in public institutions, such as interoperability, e-government, e-health, e-procurement, e-tax, e-cadastre, e-customs, e-company registration and other e-projects.


The attendants welcomed the Republic of Macedonia’s progress in this field and showed interests for cooperation intensification through exchange of materials and realization of study visits aimed for detailed information on the realized projects. The state company Alrovads, who has implemented the state ICT projects of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, demonstrated a particular interest for the My Term and e-procurement projects and a close cooperation was agreed in the forthcoming period.


Out of the Conference course, Arsovska Tomovska had a working meeting with Ms Samia Melem from the World Bank in Washington about the plans of the Republic of Macedonia in respect of its information society development and support in this field provided by the World Bank in the next period.
