Macedonia has won another bronze medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics

Kazan, Russia, 17th of August 2016

Macedonian students in informatics achieved another major success, winning bronze medal at the 28th annual International Olympiad in Informatics in Kazan, Russia. The most prestigious informatics competition for schoolchildren worldwide, was held from the 12th to 19th of August.


Macedonian team consisted of Vladimir Maksimovski, Dimitar Bajraktarov, Nikola Stojkovski and Dusan Terzic as contestants, led by Emil Stankov and Vesna Kirandziska from the Faculty of computer science and engineering.

A total of 308 contestants from 86 countries participated in the International Olympiad this year. In such a strong competition, bronze medal was won by 17-year-old Vladimir Maksimovski, making Macedonia once again proud of its young students. By demonstrating knowledge in the field of computer sciences, these students have proven that their place is undoubtedly among the best worldwide.


Since its first participation in the International Olympiad in Informatics in 1996, Macedonia has won 1 silver and 14 bronze medals.
